Pyramids of Giza
The Giza Pyramids, located on the Giza Plateau near Cairo, Egypt, are among the most iconic and well-preserved structures of ancient Egypt. The Great Pyramid of Giza, built for Pharaoh Khufu (Cheops), is one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. The pyramids were constructed during the Old Kingdom period, around 2600 to 2500 BC. These impressive structures served as tombs for pharaohs and other elite individuals.
